David Wilder was born in New Jersey, and earned a B.A. in history and a teaching certificate from Case Western University. For two years of his college experience he attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He then returned to Israel upon graduation.
David has worked with the Jewish Community of Hebron for more than 15 years. He is the English spokesperson for Hebron, representing the community to newspapers and television and radio stations throughout the world. He initiated the Hebron internet project, which includes an e-mail update that is sent to 15,000 subscribers, who receive regular news and commentaries in English and Hebrew. David is responsible for updating the Hebron web sites, which contains text, audio, video and photos which convey various facets of life in Hebron. He conducts tours of Hebron's Jewish Community and occasionally travels abroad, speaking at Hebron-related functions.
David and his sabra wife Ora have been married for 30 years. They previously lived in Kiryat Arba for 17 years, and have resided at Beit Hadassah in Hebron for the past 10 years. They have 7 children and 10 grandchildren.
